Water Conditioning

Water Conditioning
Firstly, Lets talk about Water Conditioning them. There are couple of ways to do it,
!!!WARNING!!! NEVER EVER USE DISTILLED/BOTTLED WATER!!!
Distilled water. I do not recommend using distilled water EVER. Yes, distilled water is “pure” in the sense that it does not have any harmful chemicals in it. Matter of fact it has NOTHING in it. And that is the problem. See, bettas need some essential minerals which they get from their water. And distilled water provides none of that. It is also way too soft and acidic and not suitable. It is also expensive. If you are currently using distilled water for your jarred betta, please switch him to something else (see below) BUT DO SO VERY GRADUALLY like over a period of two weeks or more with 20-50% change each time to 100% slowly.

Firstly the Traditional Method,
(Using Overnight tap-water , by storing freshly tap water in a pail/container for 24-48hrs before you placed your fish in this conditioned water, chlorine in our water will be removed naturally.)

1)Usually, what i do is overnight the water, then stir a new Ketapang Leaf in it then let it soak for couple of hours OR add Ketapang Extract about 6ml-10ml about 2 bottle caps to 1 x Su830 of water(About 3Litres) (Overdose is okay i've tested it). Then Placed your Fish In. =)
Examples Of Ketapang Leaves aka Magic Leaves(Usually these trees have red leaves before dropping):

*If you doesn't know where to pick them, you can go to these location where i picked;
Pasir Ris Farmway
East Coast Park
Bedok North Blk 532-534 Beside PIE
1 Big Tree At Cedar Ave Infront Hse 55
Paya lebar Mrt towards Eunos Mrt Main Road(SIMS AVE)

Why uses ketapang? if you use a PH tester on our water, notice the change in color due to chlorine by the tester, use the leave stir in that tested water, you will see the magic.

Please do not buy LFS(local fish shop), cause its kinda waste of money since you can get it for FREE in singapore. Of course if you're rich & lazy then why not buy and support LFS? Haha

2nd Method Saves Time but there's cost,
Using Water Conditioner
I personally uses Prime Water Conditioner kinda costly, i think i bought it at a LFS at $27sgd for 500ml.
Of Course there are other brands of water conditioner in the market, well its your choice. My advise is don't go for cheapo & not well known brand.
Why I uses Seachem Prime instead of others?
1)Well known company who does lots of research in their product.
2)Freshwater or Saltwater also can be use.(I keep Shrimps as well kinda trend lately =D )
3)It Removes Chlorine, Chloramines, Ammonia.
4)It doesnt stop here, it detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, also promotes natural slime coating in the tank.

Seachem Prime
Dosage: 5ml can treat 200 Litres. Well we're talking about small tanks, basically for my bettas keep, using SU830 & 7"x 5"x 8" inches glass tank (about 3Litres) (I simply uses a dropper and applied 2-3 Droplets of Prime to the tank probably gonna take at least a year for me to use up).
*Dropper or Shringe can be purchase in local pharmacies(less than a dollar)*
